Why Choose Us
We are a locally owned landscaping company. We are licensed and insured. We care for homes, offices, retail centers, HOAs, and municipal properties. Our equipment is commercial grade. The blades are sharpened daily. Clippings go back onto the lawn instead of the mulch beds. Every estimate is free.

In the Area
On new development along Lake Norman, the town’s land development code requires an undisturbed buffer from the shoreline. It is at least 50 feet wide, or 100 feet where the plan uses the option for more paved surface, measured from the high water mark. Inside it, trees larger than 2 inches across cannot be removed except diseased ones. On a new lakefront lot, the buffer line decides where clearing and planting can happen.

Questions
The land development code bans topping, which means removing more than half of the foliage and limbs, except after weather damage, disease, or dead wood. It is current through February 2026. That limits how far a crew can cut a tree back.
Cutting, removing, or severely pruning any tree or shrub whose trunk stands on public property or in a street right-of-way takes a permit from the Planning Department first, under the land development code current through February 2026. The rule covers the strip by the street, not the private yard. Hold off on any work on a curbside tree until the Planning Department issues the permit.
On an approved landscape plan, a damaged or removed tree 8 inches across or larger must be replaced. The new trees must be at least 2.5 inches in trunk width, with a combined width at least equal to the original, under the land development code as amended in February 2026. Replacing one large tree can take several new ones, so budget for that count when you weigh a removal.
A site with an approved plan must maintain its required landscaping so mulch, straw, and dirt do not wash onto streets and sidewalks, and the town and Mecklenburg County inspect it one year after the certificate of occupancy, under the code’s February 2026 text. A site manager who books bed mulching or commercial grounds care should expect that inspection.
